AskSpinner Nigeria Top 50 casino brands market research report, August 2026.

SportyBet, Bet9ja and BetKing led AskSpinner’s August 2026 Nigeria brand-search table, with 3.8 million, 3.1 million and 2.9 million estimated monthly searches. Their public records describe different businesses: Sporty Group’s media portfolio, Bet9ja’s retail and agency network, and BetKing’s expansion into more game categories.

The figures below are estimated monthly brand-keyword searches in Nigeria, recorded on August 21, 2026, with Ahrefs used as a research tool. They are not players, visits or revenue. Inclusion does not verify licensing, which requires jurisdiction-specific checks following the Supreme Court judgment of November 22, 2024.

Nigeria: research top 10. From the 50-brand research list; est. monthly searches. Snapshot 21 Aug 2026.

Top 10 brands by estimated monthly branded searches in AskSpinner’s Nigeria research list, 21 Aug 2026.

Sporty Group’s media portfolio

SportyBet ranked first with 3.8 million estimated monthly searches, while Football.com stood eighth with 78,000. Both appeared in Sporty Group’s portfolio, alongside scores, broadcasting and original content businesses.

SportyTV reported broadcasting over 600 events and 530 live matches during its inaugural 2022/2023 season through Nigeria’s StarTimes Channel 258 and the SportyBet website. The group also included Sporty.com for live scores, news and streams, and Sporty Studios for original production.

Football.com added editorial content, including exclusive monthly columns from José Mourinho. Together, these businesses gave the group several ways to reach sports audiences beyond its betting product.

Bet9ja’s retail history

Bet9ja ranked second with 3.1 million estimated monthly brand searches. Its corporate history dates its Lagos office to October 2012.

Its recruitment and corporate pages described over 1,000 employees, customer operations in Lagos and a European technology center. They listed online, mobile and retail channels, with over 50 dedicated retail outlets and an agent franchise network. That network adds physical service locations to the digital business.

BetKing’s product expansion

BetKing stood third with 2.9 million estimated monthly searches. MultiChoice’s FY25 presentation on KingMakers covered product expansion and financial results for the business period ending December 2024.

Management reported adding Aviator and broader casino products, describing the changes as an improvement in product parity.

The disclosures reported 88% year-on-year growth in Nigerian online net gaming revenue on a constant-currency basis, and EBITDA profitability in Nigeria, for the period ending December 2024. MultiChoice’s CEO report called BetKing Nigeria’s second-largest online sports betting operator. That company claim uses a different measure from AskSpinner’s third-place brand-search result.

The next group of brands

MSport recorded 828,000 searches, followed by Bangbet at 132,000, Betano at 100,000, Betway at 82,000 and Football.com at 78,000.

MSport’s Nigerian blog published football coverage, including a Premier League 2024/25 Team of the Season article. Bangbet’s Nigerian homepage brought football, virtual sports, Aviator, casino categories, statistics and news into one presentation. Kaizen Gaming described Betano as an integrated sportsbook, casino and live casino platform.

Media and local game content in the middle

The middle of the table included Paripesa at 33,000 searches, Stake at 30,000, iLOT and 22bet at 22,000 each, Betwinner and Bet365 at 19,000 each, BetBonanza at 17,000, LiveScore Bet at 11,000, Waje Game and AccessBet at 10,000 each, Melbet at 9,800 and Nairabet at 8,000.

LiveScore Bet entered Nigeria in 2020 and formed part of LiveScore Group alongside Virgin Bet and the LiveScore sports-media business. The group described its strategy as bringing sports media and betting together.

Waje Game’s recorded catalogue had a different emphasis. Its TopGame section included Whot, CoinFlip, Keno and Hilo; its Exclusives section displayed Fish, Whot, WajeSpin and NairaSlots. Whot and the local branding add another angle to the product range represented in the table.

What the lower search totals tell us

The lower search totals included FRAPAPA at 3,100, Betcorrect at 2,900, Fortebet at 2,600, 1xBet at 1,600, Meridianbet at 800, SKY247 at 200, and Sunbet and Easywinbet at 150 each.

Internationally familiar names such as 1xBet and Meridianbet sit well below the leaders in this country-specific brand-query record. Keeping all fifty entries shows the range of measured search attention beyond the three largest names.

Summary

The leading brands have different business structures: Sporty Group combines betting and media, Bet9ja has a retail and agency network, and BetKing’s disclosures document an expansion in game categories. Farther down the table, sports publishing and local game catalogues add to the picture. The full list captures a much wider field than the leading trio.

Research methodology

For the August 21, 2026 study, candidate brands were checked against official Lagos and FCT records, whose coverage is limited to those jurisdictions. Ahrefs Keywords Explorer supplied Nigeria-specific estimates across 92 brand queries. The Top 50 is ordered by estimated monthly brand-keyword searches, showing search interest rather than website traffic or customer numbers. Search popularity itself is not evidence of licensing.
