Overview

  • Rwanda officially launched InteGo!, its national lottery, at an event in Kigali on October 27, 2026, and held the first draw there.
  • The lottery is owned by the Government of Rwanda, regulated by the National Lottery and Gambling Commission (NLGC) under the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), and operated by Moja Rwanda Ltd, part of Moja Group Inc.
  • RDB said the lottery is projected to generate about RWF 55 billion ($37.6 million) in proceeds for the government, to be directed to sports, health and culture.

How the lottery works

According to RDB's launch statement, InteGo! is fully digital: adults aged 18 and over can play through USSD, mobile money, a website and a mobile app, with authorised agents assisting in-person customers while all tickets and payments are processed digitally. Participation starts at RWF 100. The initial games are Lotto 5/90 and Fata 12, and daily Lotto 5/90 draws are broadcast live on Rwanda Broadcasting Agency television from October 28.

RDB said the platform includes spending limits and cooling-off options, that players can request account closure, and that a free gambling support helpline is available on 2075. The NLGC will oversee compliance, including the protection of minors and vulnerable people and accountability in the management of proceeds.

Regulator and operator

"The success of InteGo! will not be measured solely by the revenue it generates," Serge Nyombayire, Head of Gambling Licensing and Regulations at the NLGC, said at the launch, adding that it would also be measured by public confidence, player protection and the contribution of its proceeds to development. Speaking in Kinyarwanda, he said the RWF 55 billion projection covers five years, IGIHE reported.

Rwanda's Cabinet approved the National Lottery Operating Agreement between the government and Moja Rwanda Limited on April 2, 2026. RDB and Moja Group signed a 10-year operating agreement on May 12. The national lottery had been without an operator since the licence of previous operator Inzozi Lotto was terminated in October 2025, IGIHE reported at the time of the signing.
